About the opportunity

Due to growth and increased demand, Botanica Landscapes & Gardening is seeking an Experienced Gardener to join the team.

We are primarily a garden maintenance business, based in Essendon, 3040. We work in well maintained properties and pride ourselves on our quality, reliability and customer service.

This role would suit someone who has great attention to detail, enjoys working outdoors, and wants to be part of a business that values attitude, teamwork and initiative.

Position details

Position title: Experienced Gardener

Location: Essendon and surrounding suburbs

Employment type: Full-time

Hours: Equivalent to 38 hours per week

Days: 9 DAY FORTNIGHT

Start date: Immediate

About the role

The successful candidate will take a hands-on role in the day-to-day operations at Botanica Landscapes & Gardening.

They will be responsible for helping us deliver gardening tasks (mowing, hedging etc.) to a high standard. This role requires someone who can work under direction while maintaining a professional and reliable approach.

This is a role that offers genuine progression within the business. The owner is actively looking to grow the business and is looking for a candidate that is able to demonstrate crew leadership. high quality workmanship and great communication skills.

Key responsibilities

1. Perform routine garden maintenance tasks including lawn mowing, edging, and general tidying of outdoor spaces

2. Prune and trim hedges, shrubs, and trees

3. Operate and maintain gardening equipment and machinery safely and effectively

4. Communicate with clients regarding garden health, maintenance recommendations, and seasonal care advice

5. Maintain a clean and professional appearance on job sites and transport vehicles

The ideal candidate will have

1. Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in garden maintenance

2. Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions

3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes

4. Good communication skills and a professional, friendly demeanour with clients

5. Preferably, relevant horticultural qualifications or certifications

6. A valid driver's licence is required
