Graduate Validation Engineer will be responsible to lead the validation processes to ensure products are robustly validated to minimize field warranty and customer complaints. 

Main responsibilities will include but not limited to;

  1. Validation

  • Project team member responsible for the design, coordination, supervision and reporting of test programs of products considering the relevant engineering specifications, and international standards.

  • Design validation and production validation, experimental and routine testing.

  • Provide expert testing advice to other departments in general and specific test methods.

  • Research and investigate state of the art test methods and procedures relevant to automotive products.

  • Testing examples: 

    • Electrical (power supply fluctuations, short circuit, ESD) 

    • Mechanical (vibration, shock, drop)

    • Environmental (low/high temperature, humidity, ingress protection)

    • Compliance (EMC, RMC, E-Mark, ADR)

    • Durability (lifetime operational durability, scratch, chemical resistance). 

    • System functional testing (Software validation, vehicle level functionality, vehicle communication systems) 

  • Create and execute component validation test procedures inclusive of system, software, hardware, and mechanical designs including DVP&R test plans.

  • Document validation test procedures results.

  • Work with internal and external test facilities.

2. Test and Programming Fixture Build

  • Design, build and document test fixtures to support DVPR activities, Programming and End of Line activities.

  • Support the commissioning of Programming and End of Line test fixtures at the point of manufacture.

  • Analyze test data to conclude the compliance of the product for the application. 

  • Report any quality problems identified during the test.

  • Write and sign off the Test Reports.

3. Project management 

  • Take ownership and execute all assigned project development activities on time.

  • At project completion ensure all documentation is completed and communicated.

  • Review the Scope of Work for DV/PV or Design Verification Programs.

  • Publish guidelines, work instructions for Test Methods

4. Other

  • At all times ensure compliance to Lumen processes, ISO/TS16949, IATF16949 standards.

  • Document time against assigned activities.

  • Maintain and uphold the ‘5’s’ principles within the department.

  • Maintain confidentiality of Lumen commercial information.

  • Ensure prompt escalation to management on issues that negatively affect team morale, project status or workflow.

  • Travel as required.

The selected candidate must have the below key skills:

  • Able to read and understand electronic schematics, basic knowledge of electronics.

  • Able to use test equipment (Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Power supply, etc).

  • High attention to detail.

  • Able to read, interpret, and execute test standards (International and Automotive)

  • Familiar with vehicle communication systems (CAN, LIN, etc) 

  • Experience with test scripting for validation purposes (Python, C, Labview, etc) 

  • Able to multitask and effectively prioritize workload to complete tasks within time constraints.

  • Able to work autonomously.
