Assistant Development Manager – Land Development
About Us
We are a growing property development company with a strong pipeline of residential land development projects across Victoria. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated Assistant Development Manager to support the planning, approvals, design, and delivery of residential communities.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for an emerging development professional to gain exposure to all aspects of the development process while working alongside an experienced team.
The Role
Reporting to the Development Manager, you will assist in the management and delivery of residential land development projects from acquisition and feasibility through to construction, subdivision, and title registration.
You will work closely with consultants, contractors, local authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and successfully.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing residential land development projects through all stages of the development lifecycle.
Support project feasibility analysis, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and reporting.
Coordinate consultants including civil engineers, town planners, surveyors, environmental consultants, and landscape architects.
Assist with planning permit applications, subdivision approvals, and authority approvals.
Monitor project programmes, milestones, and consultant deliverables.
Support procurement and management of contractors and service providers.
Attend site meetings and assist with construction monitoring and reporting.
Liaise with councils, service authorities, and key stakeholders.
Prepare project reports, presentations, and management updates.
Assist with risk management, project documentation, and compliance requirements.
Maintain project records, contracts, and approval registers.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Degree qualification in Property Development, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Project Management, or a related discipline.
2–5 years' experience in property development, civil engineering, construction, project management, consulting, or a related field.
Understanding of residential land subdivision and development processes.
Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project reporting tools.
A proactive attitude and genuine interest in building a career in property development.
