Over the past 70+ years, our unique and diversified value chain has continually evolved. The future is bright, offering endless opportunities to Grow with Lindsay’s.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

Derrimut (Melbourne) is one of the busiest depots in the Lindsay Transport network — and this Nightshift Operations Supervisor role puts you right at the centre of the action when it matters most.

With a 200-strong workforce and 24/7 operations, you’ll lead and support the night shift team, ensuring freight moves safely, on time, and to plan in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Reporting to Nightshift Operations Manager, you’ll be the key decision-maker overnight — keeping operations running smoothly and stepping in when it counts.

As part of Lindsay Transport, Australia’s largest fresh produce transporter, you’ll play a critical role in moving temperature-controlled freight where timing and accuracy are everything.

This is a hands-on leadership role with real accountability, strong team culture, and the opportunity to build your capability — with training and support to set you up for success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead & Manage the Team – Supervise and support allocators, drivers, and forklift operators to ensure peak performance

  • Foster a High-Performance Culture – Set clear expectations, provide feedback, and drive continuous improvement

  • Ensure Compliance & Safety – Enforce NHVR regulations, fatigue laws, and company safety policies

  • Optimise Fleet & Logistics Operations – Coordinate freight movement for efficiency and on-time delivery

  • Resource Allocation & Scheduling – Ensure the right people, trucks, and equipment are in place to meet demand

  • Process & Performance Improvement – Maintain high operational standards and implement best practices

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven Leadership Experience – Ability to lead, mentor, and support a diverse team in a fast-paced environment

  • Decision-Making & Problem-Solving – Confidence to make quick, effective decisions under pressure

  • Team Development & Support – Strong ability to motivate, train, and manage performance

  • Communication & Collaboration – Work closely with drivers, allocators, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations

  • Industry Knowledge Essential – preferred knowledge of refrigerated transport industry

  • BFM Accreditation or Willingness to Obtain – Understanding of NHVR regulations and safety compliance is an advantage

  • Warehousing Knowledge & Experience – Strong understanding of fast-moving transport site operations, including transhipping requirements for efficient workflow.

  • Operational Efficiency & Cost Reduction – Knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) and a results-driven approach to improving synergies within depot operations while minimising costs.
