Database Administrator (AO7) – Digital

About the Role

This is a Permanent Full‑Time position within the Digital Department, Servers, Storage and Cloud Operations team. You will provide hands‑on administration and support of SQL Server and Oracle database platforms, ensuring high levels of availability, performance, security and data integrity for critical clinical and operational systems. You will also contribute to the stabilisation, maintenance and incremental improvement of the existing database environment. Salary: AO71 – AO75; $111,103.20 – $121,274.40 per annum pro rata.

What you’ll achieve
  • Provide BAU database administration support – monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, backup and recovery
  • Support high availability and disaster recovery environments (Always On, clustering, Oracle equivalents)
  • Maintain stability and performance of critical systems
  • Contribute to incident, problem and change management processes
  • Support ongoing improvements to database reliability and supportability
Your skills and experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise SQL Server and Oracle database environments
  • Hands‑on experience with database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery
  • Experience working in on‑premises production environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and respond effectively in operational/BAU settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills within a technical team
Other requirements
  • Current National Criminal Record Check, or willingness to obtain
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Compliance with RCH’s “Staff Immunisation – Prevention of Vaccine‑Preventable Diseases” procedure
