Bambra Press is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and strengthen our print manufacturing operation.

This is a key hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on staff management, accountability, quality control, error reduction and daily workflow.

We are looking for someone who can lead with Strength, set clear expectations, follow up properly, communicate across departments and help ensure work is produced correctly, efficiently and on time.

The successful person will take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of all production across digital, offset, pre-press, bindery, finishing, outwork and dispatch.

About the Role

The Production Manager will be responsible for leading the production team and ensuring jobs move through the business in a controlled, organised and accountable way.

A major focus of this role will be improving production discipline. This includes making sure staff understand priorities, quality expectations are clear, errors are reduced, and issues are raised early rather than after they have become costly problems.

This role requires someone who is practical, visible and involved. You will need to work closely with management, customer service, pre-press, machine operators, bindery, finishing and dispatch to keep production moving and standards high.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, direct, nurture and support Production/Manufacturing staff on a daily basis.

  • Set clear priorities and ensure jobs move through production in the correct order.

  • Manage workflow across digital, offset, pre-press, bindery, finishing, outwork and dispatch.

  • Hold staff accountable for quality, communication, productivity and following instructions.

  • Drive a stronger culture of ownership, discipline and attention to detail.

  • Reduce production errors, rework, spoilage and avoidable client issues.

  • Ensure quality checks are completed properly throughout the production process.

  • Identify bottlenecks, delays, staff issues and communication breakdowns early.

  • Work closely with customer service and pre-press to ensure job requirements are clear before production starts.

  • Coordinate dispatch accuracy, packing requirements, delivery instructions and outwork where required.

  • Support practical process improvements, staff training and better factory organisation.

  • Escalate issues to management clearly and with recommended solutions.

About You

You will be an experienced production leader with a background in print, manufacturing or a similar production environment.

You must be comfortable managing people, giving direction, setting standards and following up when expectations are not being met. This role requires someone who can be firm, fair and consistent.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience leading & Managing staff in a Production/Manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of workflow, deadlines and quality control.

  • Proactive Mindset

  • The ability to manage people clearly and confidently.

  • A strong eye for detail and a quality-first mindset.

  • Calm & Practical problem-solving skills.

  • The confidence to make decisions and take ownership.

  • Strong communication skills across departments.

  • The ability to stay calm under pressure.

  • A hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example.

  • Print industry experience will be highly regarded.
