Your impact

Jacobs’ Infrastructure Power portfolio supports major renewables, transport, resources, water, data centre and energy transition projects across Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region. We are seeking a Technical Director within our Infrastructure Power practice to provide technical leadership across the region. This is a senior, influential role offering the opportunity to shape our technical direction while delivering innovative, high impact solutions that create lasting value for our clients.

Key Focus Areas

  • Lead the development of innovative, robust power solutions spanning traction power, EV transport, renewable generation, high voltage connections and reticulation, earthing and bonding, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), substations and electrical protection systems. (experience in all fields is not a requirement)
  • Act as a technical authority for complex scopes, providing quality technical reviews and package ownership across projects.
  • Manage and grow key client relationships, overseeing delivery across resources, industrial/process, power utilities, renewable energy, water and wastewater, rail and defence sectors.
  • Provide consistent technical governance across local and distributed delivery teams, ensuring quality, safety and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery, including digital tools, automation and smarter, more efficient workflows.
  • Collaborate with senior management to shape the future of the Infrastructure Power practice, with a focus on succession planning, mentoring, diversity and inclusion.
  • Contribute to industry development and professional presence, including involvement with organisations such as CIGRE.

Here's what you'll need

  • Highly skilled in electrical engineering, with strong capability in medium and high voltage systems (typically up to 66kV).
  • Proven experience leading complex infrastructure or energy projects, ideally within a distributed or multi office delivery model.
  • Deep knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations and best practice.
  • Commercial acumen, with a track record of building and sustaining client relationships.
  • Clear, concise technical leadership and communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in mentoring and developing engineering capability.
  • Professional engineering accreditation (e.g. CPEng, NER, RPEQ, RPEV).
  • We look forward to receiving your application by Friday 10 July, 2026.  #LI-SK2
