MJ WARD Pty Ltd, Operator of Edelwyss Bistro and Bar located at 89 Flinders Lane Melbourne, is seeking a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to join our team. Your role will involve supporting our chefs and kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and helping keep the kitchen running smoothly. Availability to work Friday and Saturday evening shifts is a must.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently

- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and food storage areas

- Assist with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping, and portioning, support plating during service

- Unpack, store, and organise food deliveries

- Dispose of waste and recyclables in accordance with health and safety standards

- Regularly clean and sanitise work surfaces, floors, and equipment

- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations

 

Skills and Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a kitchen hand

- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- Strong attention to detail

- Physically fit, able to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy items

- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
