Electrical Inspector

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to join EIC Inspections in Melbourne VIC 3000. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring electrical installations and systems comply with Australian standards and regulations. As an Electrical Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections, testing and certification of electrical work across various construction and industrial projects. This role is essential to maintaining safety standards and protecting the public, whilst ensuring our clients meet their legal and compliance obligations.

Key responsibilities

1. Conduct comprehensive inspections and tests of electrical installations, equipment and systems in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and regulations

2. Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting compliance status, any defects identified and corrective actions required

3. Issue electrical safety certificates and documentation upon successful completion of inspections

4. Identify non-compliance issues and communicate findings clearly to contractors, builders and other stakeholders

5. Liaise with site managers, electrical contractors and project teams to schedule inspections and resolve compliance matters

6. Maintain accurate records of all inspections, test results and certifications

7. Stay current with changes to electrical codes, standards and regulations affecting the construction industry

8. Provide expert advice and guidance on electrical safety matters and compliance requirements

9. Represent the company professionally and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry partners

What we're looking for

Previous experience in an electrical inspection role or exceptional understanding of current standards, regulations with a high competency in installation testing will also be considered.

·         Highly motivated and available for out of hours / overtime works.

·         Current Victorian Electrical Inspection Licence – Class G (Re desirable)

·         Current Victorian driver’s licence

·         Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills
