The Langham Hotel, Melbourne is currently looking for an enthusiastic & motivated professional to join our Security team in the following position:

This role is responsible for providing safety and security support to all, guests, colleagues and departments within our luxury five-star hotel environment.

You will have the opportunity to work with our professional Safety & Security team  of five colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity for you to grow with a luxury hotel brand, The Langham.

You will be able to be rostered a minimum of 16 hours per week, with availability to work any day over a seven day roster, both morning and afternoon shifts and overnight shifts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide safety and security support to all departments, guests and colleagues including application of First Aid
  • Record all security occurrences in the security log book and prepare the necessary reports during patrols
  • Prepare daily incident reports, requisition, investigation reports and other required information
  • Conduct regular safety and security inspections of all hotel areas and recommend necessary changes to ensure hotel compliance
  • Liaise with guests in a professional courteous''5-Star manner''
  • Confer with management on shift with regard to all unusual security matters and advise Management of any irregularity in guest or colleague behaviour
  • Take all reasonable measures to eliminate risk to safety and security within the hotel.
For this role, your attributes will be inclusive of the following:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a luxury hotel or similar environment 
  • Current Victorian Security Licence
  • Strong Negotiation skills
  • Friendly and open disposition
  • Ability to thrive under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational & time management skills
