General ManagerDrive a highly successful, ambitious and diversified fuels business through its next phase of growth and evolution.
The Opportunity A privately-owned, family-run diversified fuel group — operating across retail, convenience, commercial supply, and logistics — is appointing a General Manager to lead the business through a significant and deliberate phase of growth.
The business is well-established, profitable, and genuinely ambitious. It has a clear growth pipeline, a leadership team invested in its own development, and the kind of culture that rewards people who take ownership and get things done.
The incoming GM will have real authority, direct access to the founding leadership, and the scope to shape how this business operates — and what it becomes.
The Role Reporting to the Managing Director and working in close partnership with the Executive Chairman and CFO, the General Manager leads the commercial and operational agenda across the group. This means owning execution — not just overseeing it.
- Lead the management operating cadence — reporting rhythms, performance reviews, and commercial discipline across the network
- Own the P&L across all business units — margin, volume, sales, cost, and cashflow
- Lead and develop the functional management team across Sales, Operations, Fleet Management, Pricing and Marketing
- Drive the onboarding and integration of new sites and business through an active growth pipeline
- Manage key external relationships — banking, insurance, and major commercial partners
Why This Role This is a high-trust, high-impact position in a business that has built something genuinely worth leading. With a salary package in line with the accountability of the role, you will have the scope to influence how the organisation runs and the platform to develop a capable team around you.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of something that is growing with real intent.
About You You are a proven commercial operator — currently a GM or clearly on the path to it. Your background is in logistics, transport, fuel, or a similarly complex, operationally demanding industry where margin discipline and execution are non-negotiable.
You understand how privately-owned businesses work. You know the difference between authority that is given and authority that is earned. You build teams, not just manage them — and you have the commercial fluency to translate a P&L into the right priorities and decisions.
Industry experience in and around the fuel market is valued. It is not a prerequisite. How you operate matters more than where you have been.
