The Opportunity

A leading professional services firm is seeking an Accountant to join its established finance team. Working closely with senior team members, this position will support across a broad range of accounting, tax and financial management matters.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the role offers a unique combination of financial accounting, tax compliance and stakeholder engagement, providing exposure to complex entity structures and sophisticated financial affairs. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external accountants and professional advisors, while developing a strong understanding of private wealth and professional services environments.

The Challenge

As Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting accounting and tax compliance processes including assisting with the preparation of financial statements and tax reconciliations
• Preparing financial information and documentation for external accountants and advisors
• Liaising with stakeholders to collect source information and assist with compliance requirements
• Supporting cash flow, financial management and reporting activities across various entities
• Assisting with ad-hoc projects, analysis and process improvement initiatives

The Expertise

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:

• Degree-qualified in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
• 1-3 years’ experience within Business Services, Tax or Private Clients within a Big 4, mid-tier or boutique accounting firm environment
• CA or CPA studies commenced, or the desire to commence
• Experience preparing financial statements, tax returns and supporting compliance processes
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, professional approach and desire to continue developing your technical accounting and taxation expertise
